How To Crate Train Your Lab Puppy| San Jose Dog Trainer 408-45-1503
In this short dog training video we are teaching this young Labrador puppy to love it’s crate. Crate training is an exercize that you do on a daily basis. Where people get into touble is when they toss their dog into a crate and leave for work. That quickly teaches the dog to hate it’s crate. What you have to do is give the puppy reasons to love it and food seems to work the best. At our dog training classes in San Jose we are taking this dog from day 1 and making moving in and out of it’s crate a fun and rewarding experience. At the same time we are working some basic commands into the dog training session. When introducing your dog to the crate take it slow. In and out for just a few seconds at a time. Keep the puppy calm and happy. As you get going you can keep the dog in there just a few seconds more each day until you work up to a few minutes at a time. The crate is never used as a punishment device. It is a management tool to keep a young untrained dog out of trouble and keep it safe. For best results you want 2 crates. 1 in the car and 1 in the house. If you have to lug the crate back and forth from car to house it will sit in the house. Make life easy on yourself. Feel free to get a crate from craigslist. They are sold all day for $30.00. You save $50.00! – See more at:
